Welcome to the 5th Asian Conference on Liquid Crystals, ACLC 2027!

On behalf of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, we are pleased to welcome you to the fifth Asian Conference on Liquid Crystals (ACLC 2027) to be held at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong, January 21-24, 2027. Building on the tremendous success of the inaugural ACLC in Japan, followed by the second in Korea, the third in Taiwan, and the fourth in Shenzhen, we eagerly anticipate reconnecting the community after a pause caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. In January 2027, with invaluable support from the Asian Liquid Crystal community and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, we will host ACLC 2027 in Hong Kong. This conference promises to be a vibrant platform where academic and industry leaders can come together to rekindle collaborations, spark innovative discussions, exchange groundbreaking ideas, and explore the latest advances in interdisciplinary liquid crystal science. Join us in shaping the future of this exciting field and driving meaningful progress for the community at large. We are pleased to announce the active participation of leading academics and researchers from various countries, both within Asia and beyond, in their respective fields of expertise. On behalf of the organizing committee, we warmly invite you to contribute to this conference by submitting a paper that showcases your current research and supports the global advancement of liquid-crystal-related R&D. ABOUT ACLC :

The Asian Conference on Liquid Crystals (ACLC) is the premier biennial academic gathering in the field of liquid crystals in Asia. Organized by the Japanese Liquid Crystal Society, the ACLC was launched by Prof. Takezoe of Tokyo Institute of Technology in December 2012 at Fuji Calm, Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi, Japan. The second ACLC, coordinated by the Korea Liquid Crystal Society and chaired by Prof. Tae-Hoon Yoon, was held in January 2015 at the Haeundae Grand Hotel in Busan, South Korea. The third ACLC in 2017 was hosted by Prof. Wei Lee and Prof. Chia-Rong Lee in February at National Cheng Kung University, Tainan, Taiwan. The fourth ACLC in 2019 was organized by Prof. Xiaowei Sun, Prof. Yanjun Liu, and Prof. Dan Luo in January at Ming Wah International Convention Center, Shenzhen, China. Due to travel restrictions from the COVID-19 pandemic, the ACLC was temporarily suspended. Therefore, ACLC 2027 will be a significant milestone in revitalizing this important conference series.
